Visitors/New Members
Looking for a church? What a coincidence. We’re looking for you.
What is Rejoice?
Rejoice is the white church with red doors located in the middle of the north Mill Creek neighborhood. We began as a congregation in 1993. After worshiping in grade schools, Geneva Middle School and other locations, we moved into our present location in 2001.
Actually, that’s just WHERE we are. WHAT we are is a place for individuals and families to experience a spirit-filled, mission-driven congregation that develops Christian leaders and reaches out to the community.
Our building is the place we worship. Our church is our people. And we invite you to come and worship with us!
What is worship like?
Worship is celebrated every Sunday at 9:00 am and 10:30 am (one service at 10:00 am during the summer, Memorial to Labor Day).
First and foremost, our hope is that anyone attending our Sunday services would feel warmly welcomed! We realize that coming to a new church for the first time can be a bit stressful so we do our best to create a comfortable atmosphere. Our desire is to create a space where we can connect with God and with each other in a real way. Whether you've never been in church before or you're a Sunday regular, you can anticipate an encouraging & enlightening experience! Our services are contemporary and are designed to be relevant, engaging, and meaningful. Centered around the Word and Sacraments, worship is shaped to make connections to our daily lives and to our community.
We celebrate communion at every service. You don’t have to be Lutheran and you don’t have to be a member of Rejoice. We invite all who believe in Jesus as our Savior to participate.
Our worship ensemble, backed by guitars, keyboard and drums, lead us in lively and contemporary songs creating a true spirit of worship.
As for what to wear, dress however you feel comfortable. Some people dress casually in jeans and some dress up. Just dress your style.
Is there something for my children?
Yes! We love to see kids in worship, but we also have a staffed nursery for children 3 and under if you would like them to be cared for during worship.
Kids for Christ or KFC (aka: Sunday School) is for children in preschool through 5th grade and is held during both services during the school year. Kids will begin worship with their parents in the sanctuary and then are brought downstairs for fun, interactive learning! The children will be brought upstairs in time to celebrate communion with their families.
In the summertime, we offer "Church Buddies" for children preschool through 5th grade. Older children will be "buddied" up with younger children, sitting together during story time and helping with crafts, games and more.
Who is your pastor?
Our pastor is Louis Quetel (aka: Pastor Lou) and he has been our spiritual leader here at Rejoice since 2004. He is married to Jeanette with two adult daughters, Emily and Allison, and celebrated the birth of twin grandsons in 2011. He is a native of New York City, received his undergraduate degree from Wheaton College and earned his ministry degrees from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago. We think you’ll like him. We do.
