Rejoice returns to the Gulf Coast this fall to serve and we want to invite anybody who is interested in learning more about this life-changing trip to join us for an informational meeting on Monday, July 21st at 7PM here at Rejoice. We will be serving two organizations: helping a local veteran through East St. Tammany Parish Habitat for Humanity, and feeding the hungry through Loaves & Fishes in Biloxi, MS. Trip dates are Oct 19-26, 2014. Click here for more information and fundraising activities for this mission trip.
Rejoice Lutheran Church will be holding a Big Bottomless Bowl Bash fundraiser at Grahams 318 Coffee House on Thursday, September 5th 2013 at 7pm. Musical entertainment will be provided by Grahams resident favorite, Patrick James.
Church members will serve different gumbos inspired by the delicious Creole cuisine of the Mississippi region and beyond.
All funds raised will be used to bring relief to the homeless of the Gulf Coast regions surrounding Biloxi, Mississippi and Slidell, Louisiana which are still recovering from a series of natural disasters that have occurred in recent years.
Rejoice Pastor Lou Quetel said, “I want to invite you join in a great opportunity to serve fellow Americans who need help! While the Gulf area has recovered from Katrina the needs of poor folks are great. Basic shelter and food security are real issues for a lot of families. Rejoice has been serving in this area for four years now and this has become an important part of our ministry. It is one way we try to show up with love in Christ’s name”.
“Join us for a great bowl of Cajun culinary mojo and great music by Patrick James. You will be well fed, hear fabulous grooves played by a master and you will help to make a difference in the lives of poor folks in the Gulf Coast. Please come out and partner with us in this opportunity to serve. God bless you and thank you”.
In October, members of Rejoice Lutheran Church will return to the Gulf Coast for the fifth time and serve with Habitat for Humanity and the Loaves and Fishes Feeding Ministry.

June 22-30, 2013
Join us this summer for theLOVEproject2013 – North Carolina! We will travel to Topsail Beach, NC working with a group called TEAMeffort for a week of serving low-income people through rebuilding projects. TEAMeffort is a non-profit, inter-denominational Christian youth mission organization dedicated to providing opportunities for both youth and adult leaders to reach out to others through Christian service and live out a passion for God, in the context of “putting our faith into action.”
Through TEAMeffort’s partnership with WARM (Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry), we will be working on home repair projects. Our mission will be to rebuild homes and restore hope for our low-income individuals and families, many of whom are elderly or disabled. Our work will allow them to live safely and independently in their own home. The work may include building wheelchair ramps, repairing siding and flooring, building or repairing decks and roofs.
We will be staying at the Salt & Light Christian Center which is equipped with dorm-style sleeping facilities and on-site showers, dining area, Chapel, and recreation facilities. Nearby beaches will be enjoyed for cook-outs, worship and recreation. All meals are provided except two lunches and two dinners during free times.
